NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — April 13, 2017 — The Filipino American Student Association (FASA) of California State University Northridge (CSUN) will be having its 32nd annual FASA Invitational Tournament (FIT) at Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30. The sports tournament, previously known as Northridge Invitational Tournament, was first established for Filipino American competitive sports teams in the San Fernando Valley. Today, the tournament is open to people from all walks of life, and has expanded its participation to teams throughout Southern California, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and the Philippines.
The tournament will be spearheaded by the Director, Kenneth Eusebio, an alumni of CSUN and FASA. FASA Invitational Tournament continuously holds its values of bringing the Filipino-American community together, although being Filipino American is not a requirement to participate in the event. “My goal is to bring Filipino-American awareness and visibility through sports,” says Eusebio. “The tournament is rooted in a sense of community, camaraderie, and competition and is not limited to just Filipino Americans.”
